The Concept Phase

The Concept Design phase begins with an initial consultation to establish a clear understanding of the client’s vision, goals, and functional needs for the home. During this meeting, we review inspiration, discuss lifestyle requirements, and identify any specific spaces or features the client would like to incorporate into the design.

The design process begins with the development of the floor plan, focusing on spatial relationships, functionality, and overall flow to ensure each room is thoughtfully laid out. Once the floor plan is refined and approved, we move into the exterior elevation design, where the architectural style and visual character of the home are established.

This phase is highly collaborative and includes multiple meetings and ongoing communication to ensure alignment at every step. The Concept Design phase is not considered complete until the client is fully satisfied with both the floor plan and exterior design.

Construction Documents Phase

The Construction Documents phase begins only after the Concept Design has been reviewed and formally approved. This ensures that all design decisions are finalized before moving into detailed documentation.

During this phase, we develop a comprehensive set of technical drawings required for construction. These documents translate the approved design into precise, buildable plans, including all necessary dimensions, specifications, and details to accurately communicate the intent of the design to builders, contractors, and consultants. The Construction Documents can include:

  • Foundation Plan

  • Detailed and Dimensioned Floor Plans

  • Elevation Drawings and Exterior Details

  • Roof Plan

  • Electrical Plans

The Construction Documents serve as the foundation for pricing, permitting, and construction, ensuring clarity, consistency, and efficiency throughout the building process.

Construction Support

Following the completion of the Construction Documents phase, we remain available to support the project as it moves into construction. If a builder has been selected, we are happy to coordinate and communicate as needed to ensure a clear understanding of the design intent.

Throughout the construction process, we are available to answer questions, provide clarification, and assist in resolving any design-related considerations that may arise. This ongoing support helps maintain the integrity of the design and promotes a smooth and efficient building experience.
